Cervical Cancer Prevention Week

More than 220,000 women and people with a cervix every year are told that they have cervical cell changes after a routine smear. Cervical cancer prevention doesn’t stop at screening though! This week is cervical cancer prevention week, and it is a great opportunity to share facts and information and create more awareness for cervical cancer.

It is so important to raise awareness on getting your screening, that’s why this week we’ll be flooding our social media with reminders and useful information. Up to 75% of cervical cancers can be prevented by cervical screening, so please join us by sharing as much as you can, and reminding your friends and family to get their screening booked!

There are so many ways to get involved, you could share useful tips and knowledge on social media, share your screening experience with others, display posters in the workplace or get involved in fundraisers.

There are incredible resources over at https://www.jostrust.org.uk/, where you can find tips for your screening, read other peoples’ stories, and learn useful information about the HPV vaccine. They also have an amazing support system in place for anyone worried about their results, and how to manage this.

Keep an eye on our social media over the next few days to see all the resources we’ve come across that we think are very useful, and feel free to share them!

You can also support Cervical Cancer Prevention Week by signing up for a regular gift to Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, who work so hard at raising awareness and providing support for those in need. https://www.jostrust.org.uk/get-involved/donate/regular-donation
