Our fundraisers meet people from many different backgrounds every day. Some decide to support the charities we represent, while others stop to learn more before moving on. Each conversation is unique, but everyone deserves the same experience: one based on respect, honesty and human connection.
To support this, we’ve started a new initiative in our face-to-face campaigns. Now, every Zen fundraiser has a QR code on their ID badge, so anyone they talk to can leave feedback about their experience. Whether someone signs up to support a charity or stops for a chat, we want to know how that conversation made them feel.
For us, fundraising with integrity means more than just following the rules. We want everyone to feel valued and respected. By inviting feedback, we can celebrate our daily conversations and recognise our fundraisers. This helps us keep learning and growing together as #TeamZen.
The response so far has been fantastic, and we’re excited to share some of the great feedback we’ve received since launching the QR codes last month.
Every piece of feedback we’ve received since launch has been five stars, with common themes: people describe our fundraisers as friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and approachable.
Some of the comments we've received include:
"Super friendly, engaging and personable."
"Bushara was a great fundraiser, very informative and kind. Explained everything very clearly."
"Pratichi engaged me in conversation about my day. She explained the charity really well and convinced me to become a monthly donor."
"Really welcoming. Really inviting demeanour and smile."
Perhaps one of our favourite comments came from someone who didn't become a supporter:
"I appreciate the hard task of stopping people in the street and Bushara did a great job – nice balance of friendliness while informative."
That matters just as much to us. Not every conversation will end in a donation and that's okay. We want people to walk away feeling positive about the charity, the fundraiser, and their experience. Because it’s the conversations we have today that plant the seeds for tomorrow's supporter, volunteer or advocate.
Feedback like this gives us something we always aim for at Zen: insight. It helps us see what we’re doing well, where we can improve, and how we can keep raising the standard for face-to-face fundraising.
Most importantly, it allows us to recognise the people who are the driving force of the great work we do: our fundraisers. These passionate individuals work hard every day to represent our charity partners with professionalism and enthusiasm, and it's wonderful to see members of the public taking the time to acknowledge that.
As we get more feedback, we’ll keep listening, learning, and sharing what we hear. If we ask supporters to trust us with their generosity, it’s only fair that we invite them to share their honest opinions too.
We'd love to hear from you
If you’ve met one of our fundraisers, we’d love to hear about your experience. Every comment helps us recognise great work, improve where we can, and make sure every conversation reflects our values.
