We're really pleased to be supporting Action Against Hunger as a new face-to-face fundraising campaign gets underway. Launched by our Manchester-based team, the campaign has already begun engaging supporters on private sites and will continue to expand into new locations over the coming weeks.

Delivered in partnership with our fundraising partner, Element Enterprise MCR, the campaign means even more members of the public can learn more about the charity's work and become regular supporters, helping Action Against Hunger continue providing life-saving assistance to children and families around the world.

We're proud to share that the campaign has enjoyed a fantastic first week, with strong donor numbers, excellent KPI performance and positive feedback from mystery shopping and compliance visits, reflecting the professionalism and commitment of the Element team.

For us at Zen, we're proud to be having more conversations that help people understand the impact of their support and the difference it can make in someone's life. Few causes demonstrate that more clearly than Action Against Hunger.

Today, an estimated 673 million people go to bed hungry every night. Conflict in places such as Gaza, Sudan and Ukraine continues to drive food insecurity, while climate-related disasters are making it increasingly difficult for communities to grow food and recover from crisis. Behind those figures are families facing impossible choices every day, and children whose futures depend on access to food, clean water and healthcare.

Despite these challenges, Action Against Hunger reached 20.1 million people through its programmes in 2025, working across 54 countries to provide emergency nutrition, safe water, healthcare and long-term support that helps communities become more resilient.

This campaign is particularly engaging because our fundraisers will be carrying Plumpy'Nut®, the ready-to-use therapeutic food that has helped save the lives of millions of children experiencing severe acute malnutrition. Holding a sachet in your hand gives people a tangible understanding of the charity's work and often starts conversations that wouldn't happen otherwise.

The impact of regular giving is also surprisingly accessible. A monthly donation of £5 could provide 150 doses of therapeutic milk for a malnourished child. £10 a month could provide six weeks of therapeutic food, while £15 a month could provide enough food to feed a family of four for two months. For supporters, these are simple monthly commitments. For families facing hunger, they can be life-changing.

For Naomi Abrahams, General Manager – Clients & Business Development at Zen Fundraising, the launch is also a personal milestone.

"It's funny how some charities become part of your story. A decade ago, I was fundraising on the streets of London for Action Against Hunger. Ten years later, seeing this campaign launch with Zen is a real full-circle moment for me. Proof that some causes never leave you, and I'm so excited to be playing a small part in this next chapter."

Fundraising leaves a lasting impression in ways we don't always expect. While supporters often remember the charities they've chosen to stand behind, the same is true for the people who dedicate their careers to connecting others with those causes. Some campaigns stay with you long after they've ended.

We're incredibly proud to be supporting Action Against Hunger and look forward to introducing more people to their work over the coming months. Every conversation is an opportunity to build understanding, inspire generosity and help families access the support they need.

If your charity is looking to build sustainable income through ethical face-to-face or telephone fundraising, we'd love to start a conversation about how Zen Fundraising could support your next campaign.
